Vancouver’s Waterfront Park is an absolute gem! Opened in 2018, this relatively new addition has completely transformed the site of a historic paper mill (operating from 1889 to 2006) into a vibrant, modern space. Spanning over 7 acres along the stunning Columbia River, the park offers scenic walking trails, plenty of places to relax, and a fun water feature that’s perfect for kids on warm summer days.
What makes this area even more special is its mixed-use design. Beyond enjoying the park’s natural beauty, you’ll find an array of shops, restaurants, and wine-tasting rooms to explore. While we love sampling all the delicious options, one standout favorite is DOSALES. This Latin-inspired restaurant combines elegant ambiance with unique touches—like the irresistible swings in the entryway (Krystal & Lauren picturen on the swings). Best of all, it’s located upstairs, offering breathtaking, sweeping views of the river.
The spirit of the town is particularly evident on St Patrick’s day, when you can sign up for the Fun Run and you can’t overdress for this . . . no matter how much green you wear, you will find someone else looking more crazy (in a very fun way!). Whether you’re here for a leisurely stroll or a memorable dining experience, Waterfront Park is a must-visit destination in Vancouver, WA.
